His parents, Tyler and Susan, died instantly, in the same accident and now sadly the little boy has died.
His family said he was declared brain dead and that he will become an organ donor, according to Wral News.
According to police, the fatal accident in Garner occurred at 1:22 p.m. at the intersection of US 70 Hwy and New Rand Rd.
Garner Police said a Chevy Trailblazer, driven by Jordan Alexander Porter, 25, was traveling west on US 70.
Porter ran a red light, crashing into a blue Mazda CX5 Select and a black Cadilac Escalade at the intersection.
The Mazda was driven by 28-year-old Tyler Campbell. He was accompanied by his wife Susan Campbell, 29, and little Miles, 8 years old.
His aunt said Miles was a Cub Scout, a baseball player and a martial arts student at Snap Kick Martial Arts.
Police noted that because of this fatal accident, Jordan Alexander Porter is charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI).
But authorities also said they expect to file more charges against Porter as the investigation continues.
